Well presented site, lads. We hope to go for Naval recognition in the next year. There are only 3 recognised Groups in Scotland and only 6 or so Sea Scout Groups! Muirtown Scouts are based at Seaport Marina, Caledonian Canal in an ex-naval building.

I WAS HONORED LAST YEAR WHEN THE COMMAND MASTERCHIEF ASKED ME TO PIPE ONE OF OUR RETIRING CHIEF'S "ASHORE" AT HIS RETIREMENT CEREMONY. HELLO FROM THE USA! I life in Wisconsin, WNW of Chicago about 150 miles in the city of Madison. Despite the fact I am 1,500 from the Ocean I found the information on Pullies very helpful. I got my Tractor stuck. It slid off a road and into a ravine due to wet clay soil. The "Three Fold Purchase Pully" looks like the right thing for my problem. THANK YOU for letting me know it existed! The problem I have now is finding out where to buy one. Can you help ("throw me a line") on where to buy one? It is not clear to me where you are located. A map showing your location, and photo of your group would be great. It is always good seeing a few friendly faces! In the USA there is a Simpson Capstan Winch that is driven by a Chain Saw. One takes off the saw blade. And then puts the sa

Good to see you are still going strong. I was AVSL & VSL in 1974-78 ish. We had a boating base at the Strand, also use of the Strand pool and close relationships with the Medway Cruising Club. I used to work for Marconi at the Rochester airfield site, escaped to Ferranti but we are now both BAE SYSTEMS these days. In my spare time now, I (co-)run the Longcraig Scout Water Activities Centre under the Forth Rail Bridge, Edinburgh, (see www.longcraig.org.uk) as well as being an ADC-VS in my local Distrit. If Hydra Unit members want a camp in the "far North", do get in contact.

This site is very good for finding things out about events etc. But im still not sure what Jamboree is! I know where you are based in Berengrave lane, i pass it every day to go to school! I live in Utah USA and belong to the Boy Scouts of America. My mum is from Rainham and my brothers used to belong to the 4th Gillinghan Sea Scouts before they moved here in 1989. Their names were Steven, David and Michael Panton. I came to England last December for the first time. My brothers told me how much fun they had in the Sea Scouts. I belong to the traditional Land Scouts. My Dad is the Scoutmaster and my mum is the Advancement Chair. It is fun that you have a web site and that it is where my mum is from. She lived in Pembury Way.
